The smell is so nauseating that I can't use it. It literally makes me gag. And...it doesn't fade on me. The scent lingers and makes me sick. It smells like hot dogs. Which I like. But not smeared on my face. I've no doubt the product does some great things, but I can't deal with the smell.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this stuff. My skin looks amazing after using this stuff for several weeks. I got small tube in a monthly subscription box and I am absolutely in love. I am so bummed I have just finished with the sample. I will definitely repurchase when I can find this stuff on sale...seriously $160???
But, despite the high price tag, i think this stuff is worth the investment. I can tell that with daily use over the years, this stuff will take ages off you/prevent damage.
I have very fair skin and, at 36, my skin is starting to show sun damage. I think this product will do a lot for me.

I have ditched all the department store brands such as Sisley, La Prarie, Guerlain etc etc some years ago and now I am geared towards simpler more vitamin based brands one of them is skinceuticals. Frankly I do not use all the line since my skin is more sensitive and cannot tolerate alcohol and witchhazel and sadly skinceuticals makes use of these ingredients so I tend to steer away from those products. I have started using this serum circa summer 2015 with a bit of trepidation. I did not use the serum all over my face. I used it on my upper lip area where it tends to get dry and 10% aox from the same line the rest of my face. However now it is mid-winter and so my skin can tolerate products geared towards dry skin. At the moment I am using it all over my face. By now means it is not a miracle product but for me it is prolonging or maintaining your skin and it suppose to protect your skin from environmental assaults. I am fast way in my late thirties sadly!!.

WOW.
I'm on my 2nd bottle and I'm very impressed at the results for this product. This serum is definitely refining and brightening my skin. I find when I don't use it, my skin looks quite dull. I for sure have fewer, less intense menstrual breakouts and my pigmentation has really evened out.
It's a very good preventative product. My 67yr old Aunt has been using this for over a decade and she has amazing #skingoals lol. This is a preventative product so it's not going to fill any fine lines and make things disappear - what it does is create a force shield for your face. I use it in the mornings after toning.
It is insanely expensive. When I purchase it, I know I'm eating a can of zoodles until next pay. But serums are the magic makers.

I've got drier, very sensitive skin. I use this in the morning, first thing when I wake. I don't wash my face in the mornings; I just smooth a few drops of this onto my dry skin. It works wonders. I notice when I skip it -- my skin looks duller. Other people notice when I use it -- after the first eight weeks of usage, I went home, and my mother pulled me aside to ask what on earth I was doing, because my skin was glowing.
Downside: it's ridiculously expensive. The regular size is too large, I think, for a C serum -- it always goes bad (turn dark orange) before I finish it. With cost in mind, I tried using Paula's Choice C15 for a while, but it irritated my skin. I guess I can take small comfort from the fact that this is one of those rare, rare examples in which one actually gets what one pays for: a superior product.

I think it would be a great product for dry and mature skin. I regret I read the reviews here late. I have combination skin and oily on the T-zone area. I used only 2-3 drops of this CE serum in the morning for five days and I stopped cuz it breaks me out like crazy. I wouldn't recommend this serum to anyone who has oily skin or combination skin like me .

This is an amazing product.. It just has to be applied properly in order for you to see positive results. That's why I'm writing this review.
When I first applied this product, I applied the drops to the back of my hand and applied it with my fingertips. I immediately felt the stickiness and my skin later erupted in comedones and redness. I then tried Phloretin CF and had amazing results and wondered why everyone loved the C E Ferulic. After using the Phloretin for some months my skin turned extremely dry.

I then did some research and talked to a derm about how to effectively use this product and decided to try it again. Ascorbic acid can only penetrate the skin at an acidic pH of 3.5 and is stabilized with vitamin e. SkinCeuticals has both of these. Other serums, such as Obagi, either irritate and throw off the skins pH balance (whether you see it initially or not) due to the extremely low pH, or it sits on the surface of the skin and does not penetrate (hence the superficial glow). But I found that I now get good results because I apply it onto damp skin that has been patted dry after cleaning. I also use SkinCeuticals purifying cleanser that balances skins pH without the use of a toner.
Hope this helps.

I had beautiful skin before using this product but I wanted something to help prevent future sun damage and protect my skin as it ages. After two weeks of sees my skin looks worse then I have ever seen it; red/brown spots and patches all over my chin. I went to the dermatologist and am now using an RX cream to try and clear it up. If you want to ruin your skin this is the product too do it. The product was very sticky and I found it impossible to use under makeup and ended up wearing it at night.

I tried to make my own vitamin C serum but that was on the sticky side (due to the glycerin) and it did not produce results. Also, I did not check the PH value of it so I will have to pay attention to that if I do try to DIY again. I tried a few, cheaper vitamin C products over the past couple of years and I did not see much improvement. This one is working to provide a clarity to my skin the others did not. I can't say that it has lightened my sun spots (I think retin-a does a better job on them than anything else for me) but it really has helped with an overall clarity. I won't say "glow" and my older skin just does not glow anymore but it is almost like it is illuminating it somehow...Another reviewer nailed the smell (and taste if you get it on your lips) on the head and they were right - it totally smells like bologna! Not pleasant but it does bring back some childhood, sandwich memories for me. The consistency is a thick, runny texture like many vit c products but easy enough to apply.
I really wish this was less expensive and I can only guess with time and research a less expensive product that provides the same results can be found but until I find it, and as long as I can afford it, I will buy this. Now I see what all the vitamin c fuss is all about.

This product is overpriced, over hyped and IMO garbage. I've been using this for almost 3 months and just now figured out its what has made a mess of my skin. I had small acne bumps on my forehead, neck and chest (I put my skincare products on my chest/neck). I blamed my forehead on makeup and the bumps on my chest on my body wash. What an idiot!! Literally after ONE night of not using this serum I woke up with a clear forehead and my neck and chest have minimal bumps!! Bingo. I'm going to try Paula's Choice next, heard good things about her stuff. Anyway... IMO stay clear of this crap unless you are ok with playing the chance with possibly breaking out.
